I remember them very well. They were indeed very good knives, not just for the money, but good knives period. I knew several people back in the 60's who had no trouble at all doing their opening day buck with one, and that same knife did exellent duty on camping and fishing trips.

If they had a single failing, it was the leather sheaths were not up to the quality of the knife, and very often a sheath had ot be made for one.

Nice stag handles, good carbon steel, what the dickens is not to like?:D

Hey doc...

Edge Brand isn't a manufacturer of knives. It is a "house brand" of Gutmann Cutlery Co,Mount Vernon, New York.

Gutmann imported knives from many German Knifemakers, and had them stamped Edge Brand (among others) starting in the 1950's up until 1980's.

Bowies, skinners, hunting, even throwing knives can be found with "Edge Brand".

The Germans would make anything, and mark it anyway the importers wanted.
