Contact the NRA and enroll in one of their certified Instructor courses. There are quite a number to choose from.

Check out www.nrainstructors.org

You should be able to key in your state and a distance you are willing to travel. Find a good Training Counselor and stick with him/her. After taking an instructor course or two offer to help teach with them.

when you're ready to start instructing, don't forget to get some liability insurance.

becoming an instructor is easy, making a living at it...not so much

don't forget a tee shirt with INSTRUCTOR on it in big letters, and a general knowledge about everything and everything. forget about reading anything other than the most recent edition of HANDGUNNER magazine. phil sharpe and townsend whelen and skeeter skelton didn't know nothing about nothing, anyway.;)

Central Jersey Rifle and Pistol runs NRA certification courses on a regular basis. They ususally start in the spring. You have to take the a basic course before you can take an instructor's course. I don't know if you have to be a member to take the courses there.
