Thanks Jaeger, I really am. When Bob and I intially started talking I wanted something for that Walker that screamed Texas. I told Bob what I wanted and he went to work coming up with a concept. I had always admired the rigs you would see from the 1870's and 80's that had the floral carving but told him i wanted something that really said Texas without writing Texas on there (its a Walker thing and I am a junkie :D ) He came up with the design and then not to long after I picked up the Lemat and we talked and decided to keep on with the floral carving on it as well. Top notch handmade leather for sure.......... and it is handmade. No sewing machines for him. Hopefully over the next few months I will figure out and build my own spurs to go with the straps as well........... again I am gonna be looking for something period and one off ;) Thanks again and hey Jaeger................. you need some new leather...........you need some new leather :D

As far as the Lemat, I have never seen another maker that made a Lemat holster other than the military holsters you see at DGW. I figure he is the only one around that makes them so you Lemat guys better order up now :D

That is why you can not trust a man wearing a belt and suspenders. He probably has two Walkers that he plans on hanging off of the belt!

Ah.................

You do know don't you that it's your horse that's 'spose to carry that Walker...

Now I will admit that it's nice looking leather, and all that.... but he should have put suspender buttons on the belt. :neener: :D

probably should have bought a Horse First then ? :D
I think once a day the riders of Walkers clan actualy dismounted thier steads , so he's good to go really . Maybe he can strap them to his dog when out on Possey :D , lighten his load .

I have a picture of Texas Ranger, with a full belt of cartridges and a Colt Single Action.

His suspenders are attached to the gun belt, not his pants... :uhoh:

would love to see that :D
Wonder if the Saddles had buttons to hold the suspenders when not on the man ?

I can't at the moment, because I'm not where the picture is - and besides that I don't have a scanner. But when I can, I will. ;)

On second thought maybe I shouldn't...

This is a family-friendly forum and his revolver had what appeared to be pearl handles... :D

The reason the Old Fuff has survived to reach old age is because he was smart enough to not make smart remarks to Texas Rangers about their choice of revolver grips. :what: :D

That kind of behavior could get you locked up in jail - if you were lucky... :uhoh:

I've been trying to figure out how I'd put suspenders on my gun belt.Given my over all upside down pear shape, gun belts tend to end up around my ankles, which can be embarassing....

Das Jaeger
September 16, 2009, 05:34 PM
Batchler Buttons , get um from Tandy Leather or your neighborhood Sewing shop , suspenders clip right on them :D
All ya do is punch a hole, smack the button or rivit and your done , no more ankle antlers !

suspenders on a regular belt and then gunbelt keeps on the gunbelt that ties the gunbelt to your regular belt:D

Honest, the Walker and Lemat do not feel that heavy on me at all........... why my work tools weigh more ;)

I resemble that remark! I have to get suspenders for my belt. Maybe I can send it to Bob and he can fix it.

Naw... suspenders on the trousers... "belt keepers" ala Law Enforcement type to keep the gunbelt secured to the trouser belt.

Old Fuff
September 16, 2009, 11:39 PM
No Way!!! That just ain't "Western Enough" :neener:

Suspenders on one's gunbelt is "cool," if not "tactical." :D

Well.... there's always the venerable "Sam Browne" rig too. :D

Ratdog stole my thunder! His is a good alternative. Check this out http://diggerhistory.info/pages-uniform/sam_browne_htm (http://diggerhistory.info/pages-uniforms/sam_browne.htm) We wore our "web gear" in the army that included suspenders. You could hang a lot of gear off of your kit. Would've been cool to have a brace of Le Mats or Walkers

LOL "Back in the day"... there were many times I'd've liked to've had a Sam Browne rig. With all the gear that needed stowing... that strap would've been nice.
