.357 Winchester Silver Tips?

Are the 145gr .357 magnum Winchester silver tips a full house .357 load or are they a mid level load like Remington's golden sabers? I've read nothing but good things about this load but was wondering how they would be in my M&P 340. Has anyone here used these in a 340 M&P,if so how were they in terms of recoil and muzzle flash?

Years ago, when I first owned a .357, they were the premium hollow point on the market. I have no reason to suspect that they are any less efficient now.
Just because a round isn't loaded to maximum velocity does not mean it isn't an effective round. I believe that the Silverpoint is a great round, that is loaded to maximum efficiency for the bullet design.
Enjoy.

They are a hot load.

Those are full power loads. I recall firing them in my Ruger GP100. In that gun they were manageable, with less of the bright muzzle flash and thunderclap report than full-power 125-grain loads and less kick than 158-grainers. Obviously this is a much larger gun than a lightweight snubnose. I think you will find them quite a handful.

My Taurus snubbie handles them all right.
I have a rather strong hands.

A simple check of ballistic tables will reveal that the .357 145-grain Silvertips are not loaded to the max, but neither are they a mild load.

I've found they pack quite a punch. They were the 1st .357 rounds I tried in my Security Six some years back (10+ years)and they seemed pretty dang warm - quite a bit of muzzle flash too.
I got my hands on some of the bullets themselves and worked up some great loads with them in both .38Spcl & .357Mag - loads I typically use for CCW.

They did just under 1400 fps from my 4" GP-100 (which does have a "fast" barrel) last week. They did 1175 fps from my 3" 65 last year.

prior to gradual and later full transition to Glocks chambered for .357 Sig the Pennsylvania Game Commission used Winchester Silvertips in .357 magnum in issued (S&W 686's) and approved to volunteer deputies (any modern double action .357 magnum revolver - 4" barrel & 6 shot cylinder); even though I use other loads I keep 50 rounds of it on hand; BTW: I believe this is a full house load and produced stout recoil, moderate muzzale flash, and loud audible report when I have fired it
