I'm looking for an FFL in the West Michigan area willing to receive a handgun from out of state from a NON-FFL.

As I understand it, this is legal. I just can't find anyone willing to do it. This is to complete a sale posted here on THR.

If I'm wrong please let me know.

Grand Haven is my hometown but I'll drive anywhere Grand Rapids, Holland, Muskegon...

I did find one that will complete the transfer for $30.

Use this site, it takes your zip code and gives you FFL's in your area that deal with that kind of thing.

Thanks for the link. Looks like I can find it for a bit cheaper than $30.

Most of the FFL gun stores that sell fishing gear and novelty hunting apparel are normally contracted to order directly from one of the national distributor chains. They cannot obtain anything that the distributor doesnt have. For example you want to order the latest Marlin bolt rifle or the latest from Kimber, and the distributor they contracted with doesnt carry that particular model, your out of luck.

The other kind of FFL in michigan at least, is the independent gun smith who makes his living from selling guns. normally that is the person who will be happy to special order anything you want to get. They may charge a few extra bucks, but being able to order that 9 inch barrelled 454 from freedom arms or ruger anytime you want is priceless.
