on History channel. It's going to be all about shotguns this time. I didn't think they'd do this episode. But nevertheless they are, and I'm watching!

I'm hoping to see the 590 as well. I expect to see a 9-shot 590, possibly an 870 w/ folding stock or a standard police maybe an old 50's wingmaster, and of course an Atchisson. also a winchester 97. saiga, maybe, hopefully not :) you know this episode has let down written all over it though. the pistol episode was cool but basically a Glockfest. I like my Glocks but they focused way too much on those. I'm hoping this isn't an Atchisson fest. An Atchisson is a beastly gun but there's a probably a reason the pump is still alive and kicking and I don't think it's just about cost.

Love the show. I missed the handgun episode and haven't been able to catch a rerun yet. Sadly I won't be around this weekend to see this one either.

DVR has been set for the Gunny since they first started running the advertisements. Can't wait for the rifle episode.

Odd... I set my DVR about 5 minutes before seeing this post.

Finally got around to watching it on the DVR. Was happy to see they mentioned my 500. Also I never knew what the heck a Blunderbuss referred to and always figured it was just a really early and poor rifle design.

If you know shotguns, it was apparent that the gunny doesn't.....but it was fun to watch

Sure was a lot of technical mistakes on magazine capacity of the older guns, etc.
97 Win holds 6+1, not 5 total.

The Browning A-5 was a hoot because they very obvously had the friction rings set for light trap loads, and Gunny got the snot kicked out of him shooting heavy buckshot.

He even determined that old autoloaders kick harder then old double, pump, & lever guns.
Yea right!

I've never shot an A-5. In the slow motion shots, it almost looked like the barrel slides back. Was I seeing things?

You weren't seeing things. It is a recoil operated gun and the barrel does slide back once fired. The franchi 48 also operates in this same manner.

+1 The other thing apparent is actors shouldn't try to act like real people.

I heard someone today at the GS talk about how A5s kick so much. I asked him why he said that and he said bc he watched LnL the other day. I rolled my eyes at that one as I have never had any of the A5s or their clones kick that bad. Of course I set the rings on them the right way no matter how much I have to refer back to the owners manual.

The new episodes are on Friday evenings on the History Channel. You might find some reruns during the rest of the week.

I like the show, but the shotgun episode seemed off.
And the comment about how auto loading shotguns kick harder seemed weird, my auto loader shoots softer than my pump 870.

And I was pretty upset that I had to miss the rockets show yesterday. :(
