Anyone have a leather pattern for this type of sling?

Not so much the sling itself, but the piece that laces to the butt cuff. It looks simple enough like I should be able to just make it, but I'm not all that crafty. If anyone has a pattern they could share I'd appreciate it. I have a bunch of leather laying around and looking to save some cash. This is actually going on a lever gun, but I see these a lot on muzzleloaders.

I'm pretty sure that I have one of these slings or similar but locating where it's hiding will be the next problem.
Unless I get very lucky I'll need some time.
I'll PM you when and if I can find it. :D

I bought something similar to that for my Savage 99A. Wasn't real impressed with it, but it works. I think I got it from Cabela's, too (grumble gripe complain) and it wasn't very expensive. Less than $10. Laces around the stock and then slips over the barrel and pulls snug. I'm at work right now, but if I remember it tonight I'll see what I can find on it for you.

Leather pattens like that are best made on the gun in question using grey cardboard stock.

Just cut and fit until you get it right, then trace around it on the leather and cut it out.

Caution:

I have several of that type of sling. If you have a glossy finish on your stock they will render it dull under the leather pretty quickly. They seem to be ok for a day's carry in the woods but I wouldn't leave one on a glossy finish stock for more than a couple days at a time.

My mistake - not Cabela's, the one I got was from MidwayUSA. Item # 156-594 and sells for $10.99

Hey thanks for the tips everyone. I think for the price that $11 one will work for what I need, it might not be the best, but is probably at least as good as whatever I could have cobbed together!

Actually found this site selling a similar product...

If I decide to give it a go, I could probably scale that image and trace it out pretty easily.

Here's a pattern for the buttstock end. The rifle sling part should be easy enough.
