NP3 by a large margin. Hard Chrome just does not have the rust protection that NP3 does - often rust will form right under Hard Chrome. Salt Spray tests confirm that.

Hard Chrome is hard allright but the nickel in NP3 is also very tough. NP3 does not have the same danger of hydrogen embrittlement that Hard Chrome can have.

The Electroless application of NP3 also ensures an even plating of all surfaces that can not be attained by Hard Chrome. NP3 does not build up in corners and concave surfaces.

NP3 is guaranteed for life against chipping, peeling and corrosion - that should tell you something.
