Charter

My local gun shop has a Charter Arms Pathefinder (.22LR 2" Barrel) on the shelf for $340.
I was looking for an inexpensive .22LR snub for plinking and practice (carry piece is a .38 SPL snubbie).
Anyone have a Pathfinder? Like it?

$340 seems high for a .22LR. Around here you can pick up a browning or Ruger semi-auto .22LR for around $250. Either or which has a proven name against Charter which is somewhat spotty in reputation. In fairness I've never gotten a chance to shoot a Charter although I'd love to. I adore .44spl bulldog's although mine is made by Taurus. If possible try to compare the Charter to a Taurus. I'd pick whichever one felt better put together and spoke to me. Hope that helps!

Get two H&Rs in Gunbroker for the same price, three if you look around for a while.

About $240 would be a little more like it. I own a bull dog and a .38 undercover and while they are both functional guns I don't have over $200 in either one of them. Charters are by nature not durable guns IMHO.
