I'm a big single action fan, and I always admire a nice looking leather holster. I just stumbled onto this particular holster site and like what I see for the single action's. Just curious, what do you other single action fans use/like in the way of leather rigs?

maytom,
I'm not into CAS and period correct Single Action Rev. holsters really don't apeal to me. And I despise the slim jims. These have to be the ugliest holsters out there.
Having said that my Ruger Blackhawk rides in a now discontinued Kirkpatrick R29 holster that is a close copy of the Bianchi Lawman series.
Plain, lined, well made, durable and strong, with a strap to retain the gun.
It rides high on the hip if I sinch up my gun belt, other wise it hangs a hip pocket level. Depends on my mood. Doesn't flop around like many other designs.
I'll have to check out that Mernicle holster site a bit better, some of them are pretty nice.
The one on the home page might work, I'f I had a short barreled SA.

The holster I carry my Vaquero in daily is a Mernickle PS6SA. Their holsters are some of the best out there, and yes you can conceal a Vaquero.

I see nothing wrong with the holster(s) you're looking at for general-purpose carry. You will find that a high-riding holster is far more confortable when seated, as in a car. For the same reason a cross-draw rig has some advantages. Stick to shorter length barrels - 4 3/4 (4 5/8) inches or less. Otherwise the handle will dig you in the ribs while seated. When you are standing almost anything works.

A slim Jim is one of the fastest cross draw holsters available, I've always liked them. Minimum of fuss, ecoonmy of use.
However, they don't do much as far as keeping crud/rain/dirt/etc off your pistol.
That site has some fine looking holsters indeed.
Try these too:

Very practical field holsters as well as period correct ones.
Also, moving this thread to accessories.
