CCI Primers, anyone seen any?

Two buddies and I went in on a big powder & primer order back in March. I suggested we go through Powder Valley, which is where I typically order, but one of the guys said he likes Mid South, so that is where he placed the order. The primers we ordered are CCI, which I have used and are fine with me, however it is now September and no primers. I'm OK on inventory as I have placed orders with Powder Valley for Wolf and they come in after a couple of weeks, and my gun club has had some Winchester, so I bought some there as well. I am just wondering if anyone is seeing any CCI primers (LP, SP, SR), as I am trying to decide whether to go ahead and place another order with Powder Valley. Mid South keeps telling us "soon".

Thanks...

They are going into loaded ammo per someone I know who works for ATK in the ammunition area.

Things are starting to quiet down, so maybe soon. Be patient I guess.

Widener's had some CCI 200's a week and a half ago, and I ordered 2k and they arrived last Friday. I think I got their last 2k, because I tried to order 3k and the site wouldn't let me. I think availability comes and goes. I was actually planning to order some Wolf LR's from Powder Valley but they went out of stock on me before I could order.

Bought a box at my LGS for $39. They had four on the shelf. Now they're gone but the Winchesters are in stock.

My local dealer had maybe 5-7k last week. Also had a LOT of Rem SR's. I bought 1k of Federal SR's. There were maybe 5k of Federals left then.

Blythe's in Valparaiso, IN. They're getting primers about every week.

Wow, I miss those prices around here. My local Gun shop has some CCI's in, small rifle and small pistol is all I know of, and paid $35/1K.

Midway (which someone said uses Powder Valley for primers) and Natchez have both had CCI in stock in the last month or two. Probably all gone right now, but they are coming in from time to time.

Local shop has been the best bet. He has been limiting everyone to 1k at a time, but holding the price at $29/k for SR. Has had them in stock or in within a week for the last few months.

I was at the Bangor gunshow last week and the guys at Trident Ammo had several cases of each type of primer in both WIN and CCI. They asked how many cases I wanted this time and I asked the price. When they said $38 per 1K I allowed that I would wait for the prices to stabilize first and only spent $32 on lead.:fire: Guess I will slow down my reloading some for now.:(

The powder/primer guy was at the gun show this last weekend, but I forgot to even check to see if he had primers, much less check the price.

10K CCI SP delivered yesterday from Graf & Sons. Backordered since April, which is strange since I got 10K from them 2 months ago, shipped with 5K LP the day I ordered them. Still waing on 10K LP from April and 5K LP from 2 months ago. 15K SR are also backordered from 2 months ago. When I spoke to them last week they said they had 20,000 cases of CCI SR on backorder, so it would be a while, but expected the LP will be shipping soon.

Some local shops around me (Chicago suburbs) have SM in stock...but they were asking $49.95 per 1k.

Not looking to buy at those prices. I'd much rather order online.

My LGS has them in stock just about every week now. The price is still good, $29/thousand, but they last less than a day. Looks like the supply situation is improving significantly.

BTW, I'll remember the shops who charge $50/thousand next time they complain about us internet shoppers "not supporting the local business".

I was in Dundee Cabalas over the Labor Day weekend chatting with a gentleman at the powder magazine. We were quite rudely interrupted by a fellow wanting to know"where's the primers, where's the primers".

Turns out this fellow(for lack of a better word)was there checking prices as he had just received another order of 150,000 primers and wasn't turning any loose until they hit $50 per hundred at Cabelas. This fellow called himself a commercial marketer.

Thanks everyone. It sounds like they are starting to show up again. I hate paying $35 a 1000, but that is the going rate at LGS around here. Thankfully I still have some Win LP and Fed & Wolf SP that should last me probably another month.

CCI has been the most prevalent of the USA primers available during the drought!

I have had lots of luck finding CCI primers and no such luck on Rem 7 1/2s:banghead: The midwest has a store called Sheels. Give them a call, a # of their stores have nothing but CCI! Good luck!

No doubt some dealers and suppliers are taking advantage of the situation. These price tags were just put on last week by my source.
