Anybody using a RCBS Lockout die on bottleneck cartridges on a LNL-AP?

Thanks,
Scott

Hey Scott,

Not much sense in my responding here. You already know I don't use powder cop and lock out dies, and that I use my seater/crimper dies to do both functions. I would, however, be interested in one of those lube dies to put in the first station so I would not have to spray the lube on ahead of time. Ever try one of those dies? If I knew they would work, I would be moving my sizing die to the second station.

Also, I had to see where you were in Iowa, and it would seem you are just down river from the Quad Cities. I used to go to Rock Island a good bit for work, and on one trip, I think I may have driven through your town on the way to St. Louis. I enjoyed the time I spent in your neck of the woods.

Best wishes,
Dave Wile

Thanks 243winxb. I didn't know the how part either. I understood what their purpose was from what I had heard about them but I just never got around to figuring out the details. :)

I guess I was, for the moment, satisfied with being ignorant about it? huh :uhoh:
That don't seem right.

re: .223. It won't work with .223 because the spindle is larger in diameter than the neck, though if you had the right foot on the spindle it could work w/ larger-diameter cases.

I use one on my LNL AP for pistol rounds, and I'm very happy with it. So much so that I bought a second one so I can dedicate one to 9mm, one to .45. If I start reloading .40 I suppose I'll need a third one. :)
