Just Used Triple 7 in my ROA, Cleaner primers?

I was using 30gr Pyrodex Pellets shooting 210gr BigLube bullets in my 5 1/2" with excellent accuracy....as a side note, using Dick Dastardly's Tower of Power loading stand made child's play out of loading conical bullets. I was crazy not to use something like this before...

I just fired off a few rounds of triple 7, also using 210gr BigLube bullets. I dropped down to 25gr and while I didn't have a chance to check the accuracy I did notice a couple or really interesting things. 25gr of Triple 7 definitely had more recoil than 30gr of Pyrodex. It also shot silly clean.

I had previously removed the Treso nipples and cleaned scrubbed it all as clean as I could. Then I put it in the dishwasher and the cylinder bores and barrel came out looking absolutely new and unfired afterward. It really shocked me.

I loaded and fired a single cylinder of trip 7 and I could hardly tell the difference between the one I fired and the other 5. It was really amazing how clean this stuff shoots. I'm really hoping it's as accurate as the Pyrodex.

The dirtiest part were the nipples. The primers fired far, far filthier than the powder. Within 6 shots the nipples and back of the cylinder were black and greasy. I used Winchester Magnum primers...anyone know if different primers shoot cleaner than others? I thought they were all pretty much the same.

Winchester primers are rebranded CCI primers. :)

Hmm...didn't know that. I guess I'll try Remington. I don't think there are any other brands, no?

There's German RWS 1075 and 1075 Plus, but they're a little smaller than the Remington #10's which seem to fit most nipples.
RWS's are reported to fit Treso nipples but the Plus's are hot and maybe better suited for use with rifles since their power may cause them to fragment easier.
Remington's definitely seem to be the most popular. :)

Triple Seven is the best of the subs. Please don't get me started on Pyrodex, which, I believe is best suited as fertilizer.

Pyrodex "pills" do work well for me but they just can't compare to Triple 7 for shooting clean. I'll get to the range this weekend and test it all out with both BigLube 210 and 150 gr bullets.

I was dead serious when I said I clean the ROA in the dishwasher. Does anyone else do that? I read about it years ago and thought it a joke but considering how filthy the ROA gets, that it's stainless steel and they tell you to clean it with hot water and soap...I thought, what the heck...

I does to appear to be dishwasher safe.

I did it once, many years ago. It worked well the one time. SWMBO carefully explained that I was to never, ever do that again with her dishwasher. And I never have.

I know one thing. I have had excellent results with Triple Seven. Of course I don't have anything to compare it to except Black Mag3. That's what I started with and shot it for years and then it got hard to find so I switched to the Triple Seven. I don't pay much attention to the shooting clean part but it is pretty clean. It has plenty of power for sure. I don't know if it's as strong as Black Mag3 or not but anyway I like it. I'vd heard people say Pyrodex rifle/pistol was pretty good but I don't remember ever firing a piece loaded with it. I know mine has never been loaded with any of it....
