If you know of a place to get the ammo, or can answer my questions from above I would greatly appreciate it. I have been searching for months however nothing ever shows up on gun broker but the M200 blanks, which do fire however because of the small amount of propellant only give off a snap and do not cycle the action or create the flash.

The issue was resolved with a custom powder and load in a 223 shell.

You do realize blanks will not cycle a semi-auto without the use of a Blank Adaptor?

Hopefully you haven't loaded something up somehow giving enough port pressure to operate the action without one!!!

If you have you are treading on very thin ice!!

Was there an original question? All I'm seeing is a "Please Help" title and a couple diagrams...

I had several issues with types of powder, blank ammo, cases, primers, I found an expert that custom fabricated exactly the type and load of ammo I needed for my original movie prop rilfe to work with the rifle inserted in the shell in accordance with the blank firing plug that was installed. Sorry for the delete of the original information.

http://www.inetres.com/gp/military/infantry/rifle/556mm_ammo.htmlThe cartridge is used by the M249 machine gun and all 5.56mm rifles (M16/A1/A2/A3/A4 and M4-series weapons). A blank-firing attachment must be used to fire this ammunition. The cartridge is designed for simulated firing in training exercises and for saluting purposes. The M200 blank cartridge has no projectile. This is a training unique item; not used in combat.

The original M200 blank cartridge had a white tip. Field use of this cartridge resulted in residue buildup, which caused malfunctions. Only the violet-tipped M200 cartridge should be used.

The cartridge is identified by a rose-petal (rosette-crimp) closure of the cartridge case mouth. An engraved knurl is located 1/2 inch from the head of the cartridge case.

Type Classification: STD - AMCTC 5942. Type Classification Date: Prior to 1977.
Unit cost: $0.09 (Fiscal Year 2005). Photo of some blanks i have laying around. http://i338.photobucket.com/albums/n420/joe1944usa/IMG_3885.jpg
