Google has implemented a new feature wherein you can type someone's telephone number into the search bar and hit enter and then you will be given a map to their house.
Go to the internet search engine, Google. Type your home phone number in and search. It should come up with your name and address. If you hit the botton to the right entitled "MapQuest" it will show a map to your house.
You can remove your information by clicking on the telephone icon to the left of your name and follow the instructions.
If this has been posted before, don't read it again.

Had not heard of that in fact ... but tried my # in there and zilch. What is the format that might work?
I tried ....... xxxxxxxxxx and then (xxx)-xxx-xxxx ........... I also tried enclosing all in quotes .. no good either but without quotes and second format - search picked up on the area code figure for other stuff .. unrelated to phone#'s.

Go to http://refdesk.whitepages.com
Click on the "Reverse Phone" tab
Enter your phone number
When you get the results, click on "Map this location".
Google is behind the curve on this one. This service has been available for years.

I realize that they are not the only one to do it (note the thread title (one of many), but they ARE one that you can get your number removed.
The fact that it has been going on for years doesn't change a thing.

(note the thread title (one of many), I took that as meaning many threats to Personal Privacy, not many services that violate Personal Privacy. Thread title composition challenged?:D
