Over size primers in .308?

I found some .308 brass at the range the other day, nickle plated. It has a primer in the back that is WAY larger than normal. I took one home and compared it to a large rifle primer, and it was larger. I didn't think to see if it compared to the size of a shotgun primer.
I stuck one in my resizing die, and it pushed the release up on the decapping pin, so I assume it's also crimped.
Sorry I don't have pictures, I can get some this weekend.
So, is there any military brass or something with a larger primer? Anybody know why it's got such a large primer?

It's a berdan primed case, probably steel. Look inside and you'll see two flash holes and they are not normally reloadable.

Thanks, but are the boxer primers different sizes too?

Sounds like you found some silver bear, it should be berdan primed and steel. See if a magnet sticks to the case first off before wasting time going any further.
ETA: berdan primers do come in different sizes. :(

Thanks, but are the boxer primers different sizes too? No. All large rifle Boxer primers are .210".
As already noted, Berdan primers come in a lot of different sizes, ranging from .177" to .285".

Ok, thanks guys. I'll throw it away since I can't deprime it. I'd never seen primer pockets that size before. Thanks for clearing up my confusion.
