The weather is beautiful this morning. Sitting here in the stand I hung over a month ago I watch as the morning breaks.Cool,maybe 65 or so,breeze slight and blowing right to me .....Perfect!The Little crazy horned 5pt.will be along in just minutes cause I've already seen him 6 or 7 times out of this same setup.Maybe I'll take him?As I drift lazily through my thought's I hear a snap and a slight parting of grass or was it that one suicide bomber mosquito that keeps trying to get through my Bug Tamer? I never heard him approach but there he is, a Beautiful 8 maybe a 10, still a little dark. No matter,the crosshairs are alredy settled behind his shoulder as he stands there oblivious to anything in the world except the mouthfull of Beautyberries he just ripped of he twig not 30 yards from Me. The recoil was not felt,the report muffled by adrenalin.A second round was chambered by instinct I guess cause I sure dont remember doing it. A follow-up shot isn't neccessary because the 180gr.power point worked it's magic flawlessly.He dropped where he was standing.Or at least that's how it was supposed to work out for Me but here I am at work:banghead: The Boss owes Me big time for this one:cuss: Ahh,maybe tomorrow.

Don't feel to bad, I was off work, i'm self employed, so I don't have to work if I don't want to. But Monday morning my background investigator for a job with the Border Patrol is supposed to be here. So I spent the morning cutting grass, touching up the paint on the house, cleaning up some trash, took my little one to a local parade, helped my chiropractor move some stuff to his new office....

I was going to go this evening, but ended up working more around here. In the morning I am planning on weed eating around here, hauling off some trash that accumulated from my work, and cleaning up my hunting dogs area a bit, just so it looks clean and kept up when she gets here.

It is the first opening day I have missed in many years, hopefully I miss next years also, cause it'll mean I am in the BP academy.:D
