I have heard all kinds of stories on how many rounds Brand "X" has gone w/o a malfunction. I have also read several articles on torture testing via a high number of rounds fired.

But in the real world, how many rounds has one of your semi-autos gone w/o a bobble? My high round count'er is a CZ-97B in .45, approaching 4,000 rounds. I have only shot my reloads through this pistol and it has been stone cold reliable to date.

I have a few other 100%'ers, but they have lower round counts. What's yours?

I decided sometime back in the 80's that was going to stop trying to find a jhp that works well in my semi autos. Since then I have used a quality fmj and have not looked back. I reserve the jhp for my revolvers since there is so function issues.

I decided sometime back in the 80's that was going to stop trying to find a jhp that works well in my semi autos.

Gotta admit, I have never heard of that problem. My autos function fine with JHP/FMJ or whatever. All of my defensive autos have been 100%... Kel Tec, Glock, and Sig. The only guns I have that have ever failed are my .22lr plinkers.

CZ75 P-01, 2000 rounds without even a twitch, let alone a wobble. Now shoot mostly S&B 115gr FMJ for the range. Have shot Blazer Brass, WWB, Independence FMJ, Fiocchi JHP, Hornady XTP/JHP, Hornady Critical Defense.

I own a Ruger P97, a Taurus PT1911 and one of the Polish made P64s (in 9x18 Mak). I have NEVER had a malfunction in any of these three pistols with factory ammo. The P64 is relatively new and has only had about 100 rounds through it. The other two pistols have had 1000 or more rounds through them. The only malfunctions I've ever encountered were with my own handloads where I had a crummy crimp or a slightly high primer. I will say I've never run more than about 200-300 rounds at a time through w/o cleaning.

I bought a CZ 75B Blue finish for a range gun in 9mm in order to
lower ammo cost a year ago last June. SInce I had heard a lot of
good things about them, from the original gun test by Jeff Cooper
in the late '70s in Guns & Ammo, as well as in recent years. Since
my carry piece is a 1911, I decided to just clean the 75B and lube it
and then shoot it - I bought various 115 gr. 124 gr. & 147 gr. in FMJ
and JHPs to see if was picky in that regard. After about 700 rounds
I finally cleaned it even though it had functioned with no FTF or FTEs.
Very easy to field strip, and reassemble. It's now
somewhere over 2500 rounds and except for one box of
CCI Blazer aluminum case with a couple of FTFs and one stovepipe,
it's been flawless. I put the problems that day down to
the ammo type / and haven't bought it since, and also
haven't had any more problems. Nice steel weight of the
75B soaks up the recoil and very accurate, It's a secondary
carry/HD choice now.

Round count without cleaning would be interesting to know how far someone could go. With normal maintenance I have many guns that had no problems.

Got a P89 with over 5K through it trouble free. Lost count lately. Put another 200+ through it the other weekend.

My ruger Mark II I picked up used has over 1K through it in the past few months and has been trouble free. No telling what the round count through it is though.

Beretta 87T has 8,450 rounds fired
Springfield P9 Ultra 8,362
Sig 229 Sport 8,161
Les Baer PII 6,776
Les Baer HWML 6,156

Those are my guns over 5000 rounds that are semi-autos. I have a lot more out of revolvers though.
