Hello, I need to replace the broken spring on the interrupter latch in my Remington 1100. I have a new spring and a pair of snap ring pliers that fit the clip that secures the latch to the stud. My problem is that I don't seem to have enough clearance within the latch to remove the retaining clip from the stud. I am afraid that if I flex the clip too far by lifting one side over the stud and working it off that it will break. Am I missing something obvious or just being too cautious? Any suggestions will be appreciated, da V.

It should'nt break if you don't torque it to much, just make sure the area around the clip is free of any build up so it can flex out completly. BUT do this some place with a slick surface cause those little clips can be a PITA to find in carpet.
