OK...here's what I've got:

Ithaca double SXS with double triggers

Barrels are 28" and engraving says "Smokeless Powder Steel"

Tang safety

Engraved retriever/dog on both sides of receiver

Black plastic butt plate says Ithaca gun co.

Checkered pistol grip and forestock

Serial# 376355

Overall condition is good to very good considering it was a hunter. No rust, small crack near safety tang and missing one of the tang screws.

I can send pic's to an e-mail address if it'll help, but posting them here frustrates me!

Looking for approx. age of mfg and resale value. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Does this one look like yours? www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=139240999

The serial number identifies it as a Flues model made in 1923. Ithaca made the model in 11 different Qualities, starting with field and going up to the ornate Sousa model. They made a total of about 225,000 Flues (named for the lock designer) guns and the prices run from next to nothing for a worn out one up to $10k or $20k for a Sousa model.

Searching on gunsamerica and gunbroker, or google, will turn up other sale prices.

JohnBT...thanks for the info. I think it's definitely a FLues field grade.

Where did you research the Ser# info?

Ithaca is one of the manufacturers with serial numbers listed in the back of the Blue Book.
