I just chechked out a new Taurus Millennium Titanium at the gun shop, and I was very impressed. The early Millenniums were wretched pieces of crap, but they seem to have improved the latest ones greatly. Trigger pull was sweet, the gun is extremely lightweight and compact, and street price with factory Trijicons is $450-ish.

Does anyone have one of those puppies and care to share feedback on them? The gunsmith says that the 9mm variants tend to be trouble-free, but I want to listen around some more before I pick one up. If it works, it would be a hard-to-beat little everyday CCW package....ten rounds of 9mm in a gun that weighs under 16 ounces and is smaller than a G26.

Friend of mine has one of the titanium 9mm's he uses it for warmer-weather carry. I think he hit the 2,000rnd mark and the frame cracked on the left side by the safety lever. Taurus is taking care of it for him, but I think they basically use ABS plastic for the frame, and it seems not to be overly durable. He fired basic American Eagle 124grn FMJ thru it for all his training. I was thinking of getting one until his broke. The good thing is, even tho the frame cracked, it still worked fine. Prior to this one, he had a basic millenium in .45acp and it stopped feeding properly at 500rnds. Other's experiences may vary.

These are guns to be carried often and fired little...
Nothing wrong with that - there are lots of guns of that nature. 2,000 rounds is a lot of ammo and most shooters wont shoot that much. Taurus is taking care of all the problems, so there is no worries.
If you like them, go ahead and get one.

I've not heard of any frame cracking in the new ones.

Just was doing some checking and my friend did get the weapon back in pristine order, and it took less that 8 days from the mailing of it. Good service as far as I'm concerned there. He did say that Taurus told him they have pretty much overcome the frame issue in the 9mm's and they fully stand behind replacing frames on any cracked .45's as well. From everything he could gather from Taurus, the weapon has an estimated service life of around 8,000rnds. He's back with it and still very happy. At this rate, I guess it's a safe bet to try one for awhile. One local shop here is running a sale on Taurus firearms. I think the titanium one is about $375 at this rate.
