Stumbled upon the LM5 pistol on American Derringer website. The LM4 is the Semmerling, but what is this LM5? The description is very general:

"This incredibly small compact automatic is made from stainless steel for quality and durability. The LM5 is available in .25 Auto and .32 Magnum. The LM5 has wooden grips and a cam lock safety. The .32 has a 4 shot capacity, while the .25 has a 5 shot capacity. The pistol measures 3 x 4 inches with a 2 inch barrel length, and weighs in at only 15 oz. This pistol will only be produced in limited quantities."

So they have it in .32 Mag!? I mean .32 ACP would be logical, but .32 Mag seems like an odd caliber to chamber a pistol in...

Is it a blow-forward automatic? Sort of like automatic Semmerling? I'd really like to find out details if that's the case.

Has anyone heard, seen or held LM5 Derringer?

A LM-5 or first called American Firearms prior to American Derringer getting the rights to produce Lichtman designed Semmerling LM4 and adding them to their inventory. I have both in my collection.

LM5's go cheap nowdays as they are small semi-auto pistol in 25Cal which lost it's luster in the 80's when Seecamp came to be then Kel-Tecs. LM5's sold for $425-$500 back then. Never did see a 32 LM5.

So the LM5 is just a conventional .25? I'm surprised anyone would pay $450 for them in the 80s when Baby Brownings are available for cheaper.

I'm curious about .32 Mag, but I guess those must be rare.

Your Semmerling is beautiful. Have you fired it at all?

They don't list the .32 H&R Magnum on their price list, only 25ACP. http://amderringer.com/pix/amderrprice.pdf My guess is the 32mag was never really offered. I'd gladly pay $675 for it if they'd actually make me one.

I have a Casull CA2000 in 22LR. The web everywhere lists it as having been made in .32ACP as well, but it never was.

Wow, I was unaware that American Derringer was still in business. The website is still showing a date of 2000 on it.
