Hi,I remember a magazine article about 3-5 years ago about some gun writer
modifying a USMC (?) fighting knife to a more usable ormat.I seem to remember
him cutting down the grip, emovin the top portion of the crossguard
and adding a hole in the pommel for a lanyard.

Does this jar anyone's memory?

I have an older brother that wants one of these knives.

I wish I could be more specific.

Thanks.

The article was in the defunct Fighting Knives magazine, and was by the late Chuck Karwan. The modifications to the standard Ka-Bar came to be known as Kar-Bar to reflect his influence. Ka-Bar markets a version of the Kar-Bar known as the Next Generation Ka-Bar.
