I'm considering purchasing a Chinese SKS but the seller says the barrel does not seem to be chrome-lined. I thought all Chinese SKS's were chrome-lined. Am I wrong?

What do you think about a non-chrome-lined-barrel SKS?

If there are any that weren't I've never heard of them; but I'm no guru on the subject. It'd be interesting to know for certain.

A Chinese SKS "should be" chrome lined. Only the Yugo version is not. http://www.surplusrifle.com/sks/index.asp

Well he double checked and it sure is chrome-lined. Does $300 sound right for this with bayonet and sling?

Yeah, that's about right. Most online auctions are running higher, and I haven't found much better deals than that locally. If it is in decent shape, snag it!
