Nice!

Have you considered running the filework all the way back around the tang?

I have to go tell my girlfriend that we won't be going on any dates for a while because I'm going to be spending all my money on knives.
I'm sure she's going to be thrilled! :p

A doctor from here went to Africa and shot a giraffe along with his other plains game.
I always thought he just needed a long hall runner for his office, but maybe he was stocking up on knife handles.

HSO, Thank you. Maybe on the next one. This was my first filework. I been fighting it. I actually didn't like filework. But I am slowly changing my mind. BTW I didn't like Hollow ground either. See how that went.

Jim,

Filework can be incorporated to serve a practical as well as an aesthetic purpose. Instead of simple jimping or cuts to provide finger and thumb traction, nice filework can provide the same function while dressing up the knife.

Also, any professional knifemaker will tell you that any embellishment increases the profitability very quickly.;) That's important considering that most anyone would weep if they were forced to make the per hour rate a custom knifemaker actually pulls in. Heck, being a bagger at Kroger pays about as well, and those folks get benefits!

OH I know I have like 1500 hours in just the filework alone. Took me 3000 hours to make the pins. I been working on that blade since I was like 3 years old. :)

4500 hours?

At $7.25/hr that knife cost you $32,625

Tell me again. Why do we make knives? (big rhetorical smile!)
