So danged hot and the skeeters are so bad down here, I don't know if I'll go out anytime soon. We need a REAL cold front.

been bow season here in south Florida. The truck temp meter said outside 104. That was 2 weeks ago. The only good thing with the skeeters is they bring a breeze in when the swarm hits ya.

What's their rationale for that interlock?

must be a fear of people being robbed with bows, I hear that they are easily concealed

He says hunting with 'em is illegal, not owning one....or, I THINK that's how I read it. :D I suspect some bozo animal rights group behind that one, personally. Or, maybe it's fear of poachers with silent weapons. They're a little different over there with lands, societal class structure, and hunting rights/privileges.

Robin Hood, of course. They don't want merry men robbing from the rich and giving to the poor.

Should be a high of ~90 and a low of ~60 over the weekend in central TX...much better than the last few years.

I'm in Calif and bow season already past. Stalked a 3 point to 30 yards and just couldn't get him out of the brush. Bow hunting is like being a hitter in baseball. Your going to fail a lot more times than you are going to exceed, but exceeding only 3 out of 10 times still makes you a premiere player. Keep the boys spirits up no matter if you see a buck or he misses. It's easy to get discouraged when your young. I hope he makes a full pass through the heart his first shot!

My son-in-law only gets weekends off, so I'm letting him go this weekend. I may go Tuesday if it would cool off a bit. I'm not sure that next front will make it here. They're saying it's going to hang up around Houston. I mean, I don't ask for much. 95 degrees just don't cut it, though.

It's been nice up here the last couple of weeks. I hope to atleast see some on the first day. Going to an area I have only turkey hunted, but seems like it may be decent early season bow spot. We will see, if not oh well just kind of using this trip as a pre rifle hunt scout. Then in 2 weeks off to Lubbock for a 4 day hunt.
