Hi. I have got a question. Just purchased a Savage 10fp 308 24" barrel. I want to eventually get a choate stock for it but was wondering where was the cheapest place to buy online and also how hard is it to change the stocks out. Is it something that I can do myself or should it be taken to a gunsmith? thanks for your help.

Changing the stocks out should not be a problem for you. It is just three screws . As far as the cheapest place , you can try on line auction sites such as ebay of auctionarms . There is some bargins there at times if you have a little patience. Otherwise do a search on choate and you should find a number of sellers that handle them and compare prices.
Good Luck !

If it doesn't have to be a Choate, look into Bell & Carlson stocks from Cabela's. Around $90.00, top quality materials. Do a search to learn about the small mods you might have to do to it. Worth it, IMHO.
