I emailed Walther to see if they planned to have PPS with the AS trigger on it (da/sa with decocker that locks the into SA if you don't pull all the way on DA). They said no.

I also mentioned I couldn't find a P99 compact 9mm in AS in utah, the most gun friendly state. Their reply..."surprised to hear this" and gave me the email to waltherusa.

i told them I had been looking for 3 months. Try 3 years really.

I understand your frustration, but you'll have to dig harder (and expect to pay more) for the exact gun you want, or settle for the PPS, which is a superb pistol, beyond the trigger you don't like.

Well I just realized the Glock is never going to make an all steel, SAO, hammer fired, single stack pistol chambered in 400 Corbon. Can you imagine how mad I am?

Seriously, the PPS trigger is awesome. So what if it's not the AS, it is what it is. I love the AS trigger system, don't get me wrong, but the is PPS a different gun. If you want a compact with the AS, get the P99c.

I like the trigger on mine, but even if I didn't, the grip frame fits my hand so well that I would forgive just about any trigger I could operate with only the index finger.

Here is why I asked walther about the AS trigger on their single stack. Wordy, but I promise there is true logic. The first company that makes a DA/SA with a decocker in a slim/pocket gun is going to clean house.

So far we have DOA single stacks/nearly pocketable or fully pocketable...
-Kahr pm series, p series, and mk series. Regardless what most say, it is actually a lot less travel/movement on the pull to fire than a kel tec. I owned both at the same time. Kel tec p3at and pf9 both have longer pulls.
-Kel tec p3at, pf9
-Ruger (copy of p3at trigger)
-Magnum Research micro desert eagle (Kevin) long and hard pull.
-Walther pps basically a hard single action like a glock.
-roughbah RS9 is a long double action.
-Bersa's newly coming single stacks. Out in Nov or Dec?

Single action only we have...manual safeties.

I though the Taurus would come with the 24/7 DS trigger for decocking to double action. didn't happen.

In a pocket pistol I like a double action trigger. Clearly sells or manufacturing dictates gun buyers do too. More DOA triggers out there.

But once I have shot the long double action, I like single action for accuracy. Walther's AS trigger is revolutionary in this regard.

The Walther P99 AS in double action actually is safer (10lbs pull) then a kel tec, kahr, or ruger in the pocket without a holster as far as pull lb is related. Not that I think its smart, but who here trusts a glock without a holster in their pocket? PPS has basically a glock trigger.

If the P99 AS is the most popular walther, why would walther slim the p99 and put on a DAO trigger? Even if the trigger is 6lb or the H disconnect 10lb trigger it is still a short pull compared to their AS trigger double action pull.

Yes I have shot the PPS. love it. But my question, have you shot a P99 AS? if you had, i bet it wouldn't be a wonder why I asked them :)

Yes, and as stated above, I love it. It's a great system, and I think they'd sell a ton of PPS's with that option.

I had considered a P99 AS when I bought my M&P and would have bought it instead had I not gotten a great deal on the M&P.
