Well back on the 9th I ordered from Starline 500 9mm brass due to ship on 9-25 and 500 380 brass due to ship on 9-29.
Got the 9mm last week ahead of schedule.
Sent an email today inquiring about the 380, they now say mid-November:cuss:

That would be bad enough but I rounded up 500 FMJ bullets and 50 HP bullets last week to be ready for the 500 brass that was expected. Of course I paid too much for the bullets expecting the brass to be here when promised:mad:

Got bullets, got primers, got powder but no brass...:fire:

Picked up a SIG P238 a couple of weeks ago and an LCP today. Already have two P3ATs and was really looking forward to a good time with 380 practice this fall.

Sorry had to vent- anyone know who has 380 brass?

yeah, thats where I get mine. New brass costs as much as loaded ammo these days and 9mm adn 380 brass can be reloaded quite a few times.

Unfortunately there was a catastrophic occurrence last November that started a massive run on ammunition that is still with us today. Among the many cartridges that ended up in short supply was the little .380 ACP. As a rule of thumb, available brass is first made into ammunition, and any left over sold to reloaders. For all practical purposes there hasn’t been any brass left over.

Today, distributors can’t be sure of what they are or aren’t going to get, and when they are going to get it. I understand you’re frustration – and it’s shared by many. :banghead: :cuss: :banghead:

But if you’re going to get mad the gent you want to talk to lives in the White House in Washington D.C. There isn’t much Starfire can do about him. :uhoh:

ok. Then I guess I didn't buy 500 .380 brass and 1500 9mm brass on AuctionArms. Its out there. I didn't pay a lot for it either.

There are also plenty of places selling cast lead bullets cheap too. Just order them.

The price has gone up yes, but you just have to keep checking back once in a while.

I get all that Old Fuff but you missed the point. Starline showed a delivery date of 9-29 that they can't even come close to meeting. Thats my beef. If it was going to be mid-November like they now say I would have made my other purchases keyed to brass arrival differently.

Anyway I just found and ordered 500ea 380 range brass.;)

jon_in_wv - new brass as much as loaded ammo? In 380? Not hardly, I have 500 new brass coming for around $60 which is equal to about 3 boxes, 150 rounds, of loaded 380, if you can find it that cheap!

Thats a good deal for 500 NEW brass. BUT many others are charging much more than that. <...> I was trying to be helpful by suggesting you could do better buying once fired brass rather than wasting your money on new. Do what you want, I paid 1/2 that for 500 once fired brass and its sitting resized and primed in a bag waiting to be loaded right now. Good luck.

Old Fuffs point was a good one. That is the cause of the shortage of .380 ammo and brass. Who knew. Be patient. Anything less will just frustrate you further.

I gave away 2 or 3 hundred rounds of .380 about a year and a half ago. It had been laying around since I got rid of my .380. Maybe I should have kept it. I did keep the Rem 88 Gr JHPs. ;)

I would like some more .357 brass, but don't want to buy it new, and once fired on GB etc is obscenely priced lately. I'll just have to be patient.

I have 500 new brass coming for around $60

Which is $120/1000, and that is 3X what it was a year ago.
And still 2 or 3X what .40 or 9mm brass goes for...

Actually at Starline the 380 and 9 mm brass was within $3 of each other in the 500 pack.

And still 2 or 3X what .40 or 9mm brass goes for... A year ago everybody was convinced that anything smaller than 40SW caliber is not a gun, but a cheap plinker.

SO, you're mad at a company that made a good-faith delivery date based on what they knew at the time and things changed - to your detriment......you must not work in manufacturing, purchasing or any other profession that deals with buying and delivering of goods......
