Hello Gentlemen,
I am in need of information with your vast expertise.
I have a Thomson/Center Hawken .45 cal percussion 1:48 twist, 15/16".
I want to get a new Green Mountain drop in replacement barrels in:
.45 cal perc. 1:60 twist and .54 cal 1:70 twist, both in 15/16".
Anyone here use or have used this replacement for their rifle?
All I want is to shoot patch and round ball accurately.
What say you?

Did you have to make any modifications to install your barrel?

Others have said that they needed to remove a small amount of the under rib from where it meets the nose cap to allow their GM barrel to fit. It's a very minor amount, maybe 1/8" - 1/4" or so and it only takes a few minutes to make the adjustment.
There have been scant, isolated complaints about the hammer not perfectly lining up with the nipple. It can be bad enough to require the hammer needing to be bent for it to strike the nipple properly.
That disappoints people for the money spent but a replacement hammer is inexpensive and the barrel can be returned/exchanged. :)
