Okay, so I am a science nerd, and one of the TV programs that like to watch is Nova on PBS. They had a pretty good documentary on the making of Japanese katanas a while back, and I thought some of you guys might enjoy it. They don't go into a whole lot of metallurgy, just basic principles, but it's still a pretty good show.
