Willkommen zu THR
Sehr geil!

some really superb designs there! i especially like the "V", but i think it's extremely lacking in ergonomics. perhaps a smooth handle a wrist brace could improve it...? love the concept though, i always thought that the scrunching up elastic might get in the way of the ball and thus affect accuracy.

Joerg, welcome to THR and thank you for sharing your slingshots!
Have you had the opportunity to chronograph projectiles from any of your slingshots? Also, have you measured the pull weights? I would guess that the stronger examples of your slingshots are not easily pulled by your Frau or by many other people!

Yes, I have chronied my shots many times.
I am actually preparing a very extensive test series, to be performed within the next few days. You can read about it here:
Aaah, good old Rufus Hussey. To bad he passed away a few years back.
One of the great shooters of all times!

Sehr schon, Joerg! Welcome, and I have to say I'm amazed at your inventiveness; you should be talking to a patent attorney about some of these designs. On your "Freddy Krueger" design, it strikes me that you could build an "ammo magazine" into the central part of the grip, with a hole covered by your index finger; after firing one shot, you'd simply need to straighten out your finger to drop another ball into the pouch, and you'd be ready for another shot, possibly having an even faster rate of fire than the "Gatling" design.

SDC, thanks for the nice welcome.
It is too late for a patent, you have to file BEFORE you publish an invention. That's OK, I have a good job and am in no need to start my own company. Making slingshots and videos is just a hobby, I enjoy it very much.
A ball magazine is nice, but the reloading still takes much more time than firing the gatling. You need several seconds to get the bands and pouch right, after a shot everything will be twisted and misaligned. So that's where you loose most of the time. The gatling design solves that.

Here is a new video, it explains the Butterfly shooting technique and also shows off a new slingshot made out of polished brass and steel.

Joerg, watched a lot of you videos last night. All were very well done, educational, and entertaining as heck!
I especially liked your shot of the cooked leg of lamb after you shot it with the steel balls. Too funny!
You remind me of myself when I was a kid and me and my friends were shooting all kinds of stuff in our back yards. I strongly suspect you are very young at heart.
It's ridiculous you can't get a slingshot with a wrist brace in Germany. I thought California was bad, but at least slingshots haven't been banned here (yet).

Well, slingshots are illegal in New Jersey! Seems like the 2nd amendment is not very much respected in some US states.
I don't mind the ban for braces as they make a slingshot bulky. A good design makes braces obsolete.
Like my "bow like" slingshot design. Here is a pic and a vid:
Have enjoyed your video's today Joerg. Your very good at what you do. Keep posting. Might just have to pick one and try and make it myself. Haven't picked up a slingshot since I was a kid ;) Thanks ;)
