Son, Daughter and myself had a very nice range trip today. Marc and myself shot as normal...Cortnae sat down behind a bench with a 308 that I handed her. Lil gal fired 2 boxes of loads and proclamed she loved it.....Thats when I told her the pre 64 with the B&L set up was hers.Kinda a teary look in her eyes.....I've put together a good colection to give to my kids......just decided to start doing it now!I'm not planning on firing my last shot for another 20 years or so....but ya never know.
She's got some practice to do but did darn good.

Dan, most commendable.
I plan on doing the same thing just like my father before me.

Dan,
Glad you got to see the expression on your daughters face instead of after it's to late. Your post made my eye's a little glossy.
I have an only daughter and one heck of a collection she'll get. For now she's got a .22 Cricket. In another year or two she'll get the Ruger 77RL MK1 .257R. We'll see how it goes from there. Kinda hope she'll sell a bunch to go to college when the time comes.
Congrats to you and your children.
Bill

LOL, daughter has already done the school...be 25 on June 1.
Son will be 19 in July...Marc already has his 06, 338,30-30 and shotguns...all pre 64's....he already knows which ones are his....the ole man's gonna keep a 06,270,12ga and pistols.
Just figured I'd give em while I was still shooting.Saves taxes later!

:D

I could have put it in stocks.......somehow figured ole Winchesters n Remingtons were better. Both my kids know and respect the workmansship that went into them! Don't figure they will ever sell em.......I still have a few left for future grandkids....

Dan,
Need another son?

I plan on doing the same with my kids and guns. Even bought 2 of some items just so they each get one. :D

I sure hope they appreciate it one day.

LOL, nope...don't need another one...satisfied with the ones I have, full papers on each of em!This wasn't as painful as I thought.Besides, do it now before the feds or a NWO government makes it verboten!Marc already knows which ridge to scatter ashes on.......kinda my way of staying on future hunts with them...
Hey guys, it's gonna be another 20 years before I finally clear the fireing line!

I admire your decision.:)

That's great! :)

At the last gun show I eyeballed a .22 Cricket, thinking of my 2 year old niece. In a couple more years...
