Does anyone know hat kind of ballistics the large 'Tower', 'New Land Pattern' or 'Pirate' pistols in .69 or .75 caliber produced? I know the .69 fired a 415gr lead ball of .65 caliber but I want to know the velocities. Anybody have one of these and a chronograph?

They were loaded with a relatively small powder charge to produce velocities on the order of 700 fps for really close up arm's reach work. They depended on your opponent's becoming tired carrying all the lead around more than real "shock" power. The answer to the "Throw a big chunk of lead and let the velocity take care of itself." school of thought.
I sold mine and now regret it. Looking for another one.
