We had a several Remigton Spartans special ordered. The good ones were solid utility guns, but the percentage of problems were much higher than normal. The worst one was an over/under that was so poorly machined it couldn't be assembled. The gunsmith finally refused to work on them any more.

Shame about the quality of the new guns.
I have three O/Us and a S/S and they are very well made guns. They were all made in the 1980s though.
Get an older one if you can...Details of how to date them here.........
