Can anyone make a holster recommendation for a Bersa Thunder .380 ?

I was hoping for a Kydex, but they don't seem to make one that would fit.

I want an IWB (will wear at 4:00) not-leather holster. Suggestions?

Thanks,
ChickenHawk

Sounds like you have yours now Chicken! :)

I too have been wondering the same re holsters and nope .. no Kydex, as yet anyways. I'm not a great follower of IWB myself but have wondered what sorta high-rider rig I might find for OWB .... at present and today in fact ... used fanny pack cos out biking .... but would prefer something else.

LOL :)

No, I'm dissappointed to say that I haven't got it yet. :( When I do, you'll see the thread where I brag about it!!

But, I'm starting to shop around to see what's available as a holster. Not much I can find that says Bersa in the description, yet.

ChickenHawk

Oops ... sorry chicken! made a half-a$$ed assumption there .. my bad!

I just remembered you mentioning the Thunder on another thread. Anyways .. so it's on the way eh .. good news. Yeah ... give your thoughts when ''tested''!

So far . i am well pleased with mine ... it's all I expected and, maybe a bit more besides. I may have mentioned but .. got a coupla spare mags from Natchez ... only about $12 each ... and they seem well OK too.

OK holster officionados ... we await your input!!:p

Thanks SirVette,

I figured the Walther PPK was a good fit, but I'll expand my search to include the SIG P230 and P232

P95Carry,
I hope to have the Bersa by next weekend. It's on order at a local gun shop.

Cheers,
ChickenHawk

I use an Uncle Mike's IWB for my Bersa and it seems to do the job. It is cheap but confortable. I don't carry it every day but when I do, it works for me.

ChickenHawk: Try contacting http://www.gunnersalley.com they carry the FIST line of holsters, they were quick to respond with help to find a kydex hoslter for my Para Carry, which my procrastination has kept me from ordering yet (and worry that I will like leather instead). I am sure they can find or make one for the Bersa.

Edit: I just checked the website, the Thunder is listed on the selectable weapons list, on one though, it was not in order, it was right after the Para Carry! They have lots of options there, go check it out.

There are many holsters that are specifically listed for the Bersa Thunder380, but there have been a few that have been found to work fairly well.

One that I've found to do so is the Bianchi 19230, which is in the model 100 line. The holster is listed for the Beretta 84/85 series .380 pistols, which are somewhat similar in size/dimension. My(really my wife's as she "commandeered" it) resides in this holster and the fit is acceptable.

The main differences(in fit) between the PPK/Sig 230/232 and the Bersa and Beretta 84/85 F series, is the front of the trigger guard. The PPK's and Sig's have a rounded profile, while the Bersa(83, 85, 86, original 95 series and Thunder series) and Beretta F series .380's have the squared profile. The later Bersa 95 series(following discontinued importation of the all steel wide/high capacity framed .380's) have a rounded trigger guard profile, similar to the Walther PPK and Sig 230/232 pistols.

The short of it is, if you want a holster that isn't "made to fit" by one of the well known makers, in other words "off the rack/shelf", then look for one made for a Beretta 84/85F series pistol. Most times it will work okay. For better retention, go with a well known maker that molds specifically for the Bersa.

SirVette ... thank you Sir .. very useful info - did a search on ''Houston Holsters''. That #RP42 paddle is available at a mere $9.16 (link below) and even with shipping is well within bounds should it prove to be no good.

I like paddles of Fobus type anyways - and expect it will find a niche, no problem.

Hey Chicken!! Here's the link in case you wanna go the same route .... it ain't much to lose if you don't get on with it.

That is a lot more options than I expected!

I've been searching the web most of the evening looking at the various alternatives.

I'm hoping for an IWB (as opposed to the paddle type P95Carry).

I'm going to try to come up with my 2-3 favorites, and then look for them at the next gun show (in 2 weeks) so I can see before I buy.

Thanks all,
ChickenHawk

You will find them at gunnersalley.com listed under FIST holsters. look close to the list you will find the bersa thunder listed in the gun list between p and r in the list. They are cheaper on this web site than they are on the fist web site.:D

Chickenhawk, since I am hoping to pick up my 380 Thunder soon, I sent a email to Bill of Wildbills Concealment asking if he had a holster for the Bersa. He advised it is available in all of his models but the only one he had in stock without a wait time is the Covert Carry... I will probably get another Undercover IWB, it works great for my Sig P-239..Also, check out his summer special on double thick belts (if they are still on sale)

Thanks kjmead (and all),

You're the 2nd to recommend gunnersalley but I couldn't find the Bersa Thunder 380 when I looked yesterday. :( This time I found it!

I have a feeling I'm going to end up with more than one holster before I'm done experimenting!

The pocket holster for my Kel-Tec (that one's a Hedley's) was a much easier decision than the IWB for the Bersa.

ChickenHawk

I realize you are goin the IWR route Chicken ... but I'll post later when i get my paddle ... and may well see what else I find that appeals.

It seems awful likely (it's happened b4!!) . I'll finish up buying two types .. to be able to finish up with one that really suits me. :p

Your welcome P95, and you are right, the first time I signed into Wildbills concealment the music got my attention too. as a footnote.. I ask Bill about a pocket holster for the keltec 380 and he advised he has it (if anyone is interested, just passing that info along.)

The Kel-Tec .380 is the P3AT, right?

I thought that was essentially the same size as the P32 and fit into the same holsters.

Isn't that correct?

Cheers,
ChickenHawk
