And if you want, tell us why you like it. My choice: Browning Hi-Power.

If it's not on the list, tell us what you prefer! :D

I'll carry what I have G17 or a revolver...

No CZ-75/85! Blasphamy! Of course I don't carry at all until we get Kansas to pass a CCW law.

If I were to carry a 9mm It would be a toss-up between the G17 and the CZ85 Combat. Depending on how many controls I felt like having. I'm a simple guy so I'd probably go with the Glock. But if I'm going with the boxier bulkier Glock anyway I'd use a .40 S&W

G-17 is the only "Full sized" pistol that I've found to be relativly easy to carry concealed.

Love my new 92FS, but it just don't cut it as a CCW ;)

Well, I don't carry a full-size 9mm.: if I have a choice, I don't carry 9mm. at all! If I have to, a G19 is my choice. So, given a full-size 9mm., I'd probably go for the G17, since I know Glocks pretty well. However, if I wasn't familiar with the Glocks, I'd have to use a SIG P226 as my first choice - that's a sweet-shootin' gun! :D

My first choice in a full size 9mm defense pistol...

I'd take the SIG P226 every time.

Walther P99 is first choice.
Sig 228 is second choice.

If one of the mods could ad CZ 75/85 to the poll I would appreciate it. Forgot about that one!

Since my SIG P225 is not on the list, I voted for my wife's Walther P99 which I like a lot too!

Sig 228 all the way.
Fits my hand perfect.

G17 for me please! It's the one handgun I've had the longest, fired the most and have become most proficient with and you can't beat the lightweight even when fully stuffed with a full pre-ban mag. I carry it daily.

Close call for me. The Hi-Power is one of my all time fav's, but I actually prefer a DA/SA auto for CCW. I went with the SIG228.--Leigh

Of the ones you list I'd take the P228, although it really is a compact and not a full-sized 9mm. Wouldn't trade or sell mine under any circumstances.

But for a full size 9mm, I'd take one that is not on the list, a P220 9mm

I consider the 228 a semi compact/compact..but Id still take the CZ...:D

I have a P-99, a Beretta Cougar 8045 and a Glock 21.. The Beretta cougar is not considered a full size pistol..

I have carried all three and I prefer the glock 21..:)

Wouldn't some of those be more akin to a Glock 19 instead of a 17?

BHP . . . in this case, the oldest is the best. Good pointability, consistent SA trigger, reasonably flat . . . it may not be "perfect" but it's closer than anything else on the list.

Edited to add........
DOH I voted before I read CCW. I can't conceal my 75 worth a darn so I would have to go with a SIG for concealability.

Not on the list, but my personal choices are the HK USP or HK P7M8. I carry a stainless HK USPc. Yes, it's a labeled a compact but is still a handful of a gun. Of the choices on the list, I would go with the Sig P228. I am looking at buying one and adding NS and a laser max to it. I was even considering trading my P7 on one, but I don't know if I can let that beauty go.

P99, then BHP.

I've tried my CZ-75B a couple times. Even with a cheap nylon holster, it's very concealable. It is just as thin as a 1911, except for the grips. If somebody would make some thin grips for it, it would be a nice carry gun.

Well, most of you know which I'm gonna plug :D but for the newbies, I'll say it anyway: The Browning Hi Power.

If I had to pick a second fave, I'd have to go for the CZ.

Cheers,
Wes

As the Beretta 92FS is the only 9mm I have ever bought more than once, I will go with it, though it is on house duty. I carry a 1911 cuz I don't shoot just to miss alot.:neener:

I carry the Walther, but since I can only have 10 rounds, it's a 40 auto. My 9mm carry is a Kahr K9, but that isn't full size and wasn't on the list.

A compact version of the same gun should be combined.
Suggest combine Sig P226/P228 in the poll.

I like the Navidrex Diamondwood grips that I put on my silver chrome.

The only full-size 9 I own right now is a CZ 75B. I have owned a Ruger P89 in the past. Of course, several on your list are guns that I need to eventually pick up (P99/SW99, BHP, Beretta 92 and/or Taurus PT92, maybe the S&W and maybe the Glock).

Anyway, even though I'm not in a carry state, I do carry around the house a lot so I have figured out what some of my preferences are. I like IWB so length isn't that important (so long as the barrel doesn't dig into my leg or hip). Width/thickness is my biggest thing for a future carry gun. So, most full-sized 9mms are out since they are wide, double stack, guns. I definately prefer slightly smaller, compact and/or single stack guns.

The 75B would be acceptable. The BHP is thinner so it should work pretty well. Many Glocks are the same width and many people have no problem with the Glock 26 so I doubt if the 17 would be a problem. I'd also like to check out the Walther. I think the Beretta would be a little too wide, and certainly the Ruger I once owned would be way too wide for me to carry. From checking them out a bit I think the S&W 910 would work, as would the Taurus PT911 (though they may be better classified as compacts). I think a single stack, 9mm 1911 would be just about perfect (if I had to go with a full-size).

Make mine a hi-power.

Although a CZ-75B would do just as well.

Since reliability is the #1 consideration in any defensive weapon and this poll is limited to 9mm, I would choose my CZ-75BD. I'm sure the others are fine shooters and very reliable I have more experence with the CZ's.
Shoot well and often!!

1. BHP
2. 226, the pistol I almost bought.
3. CZ 75 SA

If I were to carry something as large and heavy as a full size 9mm it would be the CZ 75/85 series. I would have said Browning but I like the Double Action of the CZ's for carry purposes. While carrying cocked and locked is alright with alot of people, it freaks me out. Therefore, no SA autos like the BHP for carry.

Make mine a basic, Colt Lightweight Commander in .38 Super. If 9X23
becomes available, I'd go for that if the ammo were easier to get.

Close choice between the BHP and the Walther P99. As much as I like my BHP, I had to go with the Walther. It's easier for me to hoof around and I'm not fully trained to click off that safety automatically in times of stress!!

If the 92 is in Inox, then I pick the Beretta. Otherwise, the 5906.
