HI Guys
I just got back from my first succesful hunt. We were in the southern most part of the Olympic NF where it borders the lumber Co's clear cuts. My buddy gut shot( 180's in a 300WM) the only legal bull in the heard. I was on the other side of the clear cut watching the whole thing. At the shot it turned and went back into the woods. There was just enough blood to follow. 1/2 mile later in the DEEP woods it jumped up and ran a few yards and stopped. Thru a narrow gap in the trees I knocked it off it's feet with my 45-70(rem 405's @ 1800fps). We packed it out of the woods the next morning on our backs to the clear cut where we draped the quarters over our mountain bikes and walked the 2 miles back to the truck. We packed out 350lbs+ of meat , so now it's off to the butcher.
