My 2004 goal is to collect 20 more Leg points and become a Distinguished Rifleman, preferrably at Camp Perry so I can go up on stage.

First of all - to shoot more! My goal for 2003 was to make one match a month (of ANY kind - three gun, IDPA, highpower, or long range), and so far I think I've shot only three, and it's November, with maybe two more matches I can get in before the end of the year :cuss:
Work and school sure do get in the way sometimes........
My specific goal is to make expert in Long Range, and start getting some good wind reading experience so I can push that to master in the future.
Also to practice up on "practical" rifle shooting and beat those two guys that edged me out in the annual "FALs only" match in Georgia this year :D

I want to make CDP Expert. I missed it in the classifier by a couple of seconds during 2003, a couple of days after I beat it while practicing. Then at the state match I should have won my division and got bumped up, but got beat by a sandbagger.
I'd like to win more too. :)

1. Make "A" class USPSA/IPSC.
2. Place in the top 25% at a big 3Gun match like RM3G-Raton. (Was at the 53%-ile this year.)
3. Shoot the ITRC in Gilette, WY.
To accomplish these, I'm going to: shoot 3-4 matches per month; go to the range with my timer and some IPSC targerts 3-4 times a month for "directed practice"; and get any remaining gear sorted out.

My goal is to make it to 3 or more Highpower matches and get a qualification card, shooting for Expert level. And I want to make it over to the 600 yard range at least once for practice, hopefully a match or two as well.

Make Expert. I made Sharpshooter last summer and have 80 shots so far at the Expert level. Last weekend I shot a club practice match and scored 93% - a personal best. Too bad it didn't count for my NRA ranking.
I am still shooting with a mostly stock Bushmaster. It has a standard 9" twist chrome-lined barrel and standard rear sights. I have added a good two-stage trigger and a free-float tube so far. I was going to replace my barrel with a Match Barrel, but I think that I will take the plunge and buy a whole Match Upper. I have already emailed John Holliger about some of the details. :D

Make earned Master in all five USPSA Divisions. The only one remaining is Production. I hope to make Production Master by the end of the year, but 2004 is good too.

I want to finish 2004 with all my body parts attached and no DQs.
Beyond that, I want to make "A" in USPSA production. I am C class now but am shooting high B scores, high enough that I've got two now that will be disallowed.
I want to attend at least 3 major matches, hopefully starting with the Florida Open, did my first big one this year. Win production overall at my next sectional, finished 3rd this year.
I want to finally stop farting around and join IDPA and get classified. In my matches I was out with the Ex crowd, we'll see.
Join my local club that runs IDPA, this will give me a better practice situation, help new folks get in the sport and give me more match time.
Get RO and SO certified.
Work a big match.
Start USPSA revolver.
Start another sport, wanted to do highpower since before I knew what IPSC was, still haven't tried it.
More 3 gun!

Short term:
I want to hit 195/200 in slowfire during competition this year. I'm going to shoot a 560 in 25m pistol and mid 550s in 10m air this year if it kills me. The end goal for the year is to place in the top 3 at nationals.
Long term:
National Development Team. Assuming I can stick with it after college.

...move up a class in IDPA...from SSR "Sharpshooter" to "Expert"...also, to shoot at least the "Minimum number" of registered targets at Skeet to qualify for the All-State Team...not that I've been shooting well enough to, but ya' never know....mikey357

Would like to move up to Sharpshooter in IDPA, I regularly shoot scores in that range, till I hit the classifier, then I tank big time. I'm classified Marksman in all four divisions, but I can't seem to break the tape to the next level. I've been concentrating on CDP for a couple months, but still not there. Probably need to practice my long shots more, so that's my goal, to practice more.

Get at least halfway to CDP Master in IDPA. I'm only SS now due to me continuing to be a moron and throwing the three classifiers I've shot with stupid mistakes, so I should have expert in a couple weeks without any trouble...I hope.
Get classified at least expert with my USP and SS with my G29.
Get a commitment and a plan concerning range construction for our new IDPA club in hand before the thaw and other assorted details worked out to prep for our first full-on season.
Shoot more matches. Alot more.

PS: And I'm with Skunk: find a way to calm the hell down and shoot for better hits!

Goal,
get all my classifications to Sharp Shooter. Currently at SS in SSR and SSP. Marksman with CDP and ESP. Then go to the next step. Just shot a Classifier with SSR, total time made expert, however they had to count those outside holes. NMP (need more practice)

My shooting goals for '04...????
1) Shoot 480 x 500 in our local "Garand League" matches.....
2) Shoot my first NRA "Master" class score (94%+), X-course, with my M1....
3) Shoot 95% in Standing.... which would pretty much guarantee me getting the first two, since my "slow prone", "rapid prone", and "sitting" scores are already well above 94%. :D
Best to all,

I've got another goal to add. I volunteered to head up gathering donations for the prize table for the state match. I'm going to work my butt off and make sure it is a good one.
Any of you guys happen to own a company and want to donate some prizes? :) Utah IDPA will thank you. :)

My goals are:
1) Shoot Expert in CDP, I'm at the MM level, less then 2 sec down from SS
2) Shoot Expert in ESP, I haven't classified yet, but would likely be in NV
3) Shoot "B" in Limited, I'm at the "UN" level, I've shot Limited once.
4) Shoot "B" in Limited-10, I'm at the "C" level, low "C" that is, and I have a long way to go.
5) Shoot "B" in Revolver, I'm at the "UN" level, I've never shot Revolver in IPSC, and am waiting on equipment.
Respectfully,

Wow, those are some great goals. I wish you the best and hope you make all of them. B class in revolver is attainable if you can get some classifiers that don't have standing reloads. Those pesky 8 shot per string classifiers are just plain revolver hateful.

Ankeny,
You are correct, I'll need a lot of luck on all of my goals! Considering what I have to work with (ME), it will be a very very difficult challenge. But, no one said the goals had to realistic.
It would be interesting to see, in a year from now, how well we've met our goals. I've already started my excuse list. :)
Respectfully,

i missed last years "most improved shooter" by a fraction of a point, so getting it this year is one goal,,,
went from a starting point of 225 to shooting a few 280+ by the end of the season
getting rid of those one or two pesky fliers that trash my score would be another, that would put me closer to 290 and that would make me happy!
thats about all that i can think of at the moment
happy shooting

My goals for 2004 are:
Shoot directed practice sessions 2 times per week
Dry fire on the off days
shoot at at least 2 clubs I have never been to before
Move up in the three classes of IDPA I shoot
Move up in USPSA Revolver and Limited 10
Improve the condition of my body so the games will be more fun to play.
If JK wants to join some practice sessions, let me know as Sunday AM will probably be the day all winter. Swinging targets are the first dedicated sessions :barf:

I would like to make the transition from being a modest wheel gun IDPA shooter to a decent 1911 shooter. I used a 686 4in and felt that I had become as efficient as I was capable of doing. In keeping with the spirit of IDPA, I also felt that buying a 625, which in my opinion, is an enhanced revolver, would not be what I call a practical carry gun. Just my thoughts, nothing meant to offend those with a 625. I really enjoy the 1911 Government. I am looking forward to 2004

Goals for '04?
Definitely want to qualify in IDPA so I know where I stand. I regularly place in the top five at any match I shoot, even when I think I'm sucking, but shooting against other unknowns doesn't help me. Of course, looking at my times compared to the times of known competitors doesn't make me look too good. Maybe I'll stay unclassified.
Have to get more training. I tried to do this in '03, but the guy at Ronin Intl died and they are rumored to be regrouping. Where can I afford to go now?
I'd like to try some rifle comps, but I suck at that and don't have a rifle that qualifies, afaik. Will my Ruger M77 make the grade? Hate to buy a new rifle just for competition....unless it's ubercool :)
More training. More competition. More meditation so I stop blowing the comps.

I want to move up to sharp shooter in IDPA.....I usually beat the guys in SS now so I'm pretty sure I'm able too...I just can't seem to make it to the Classifier.......other than that....just to get better and more porficient with my IDPA gun(G17) and my Carry (SP101)......

I am switching from the M1a to the AR in highpower and I am already shooting MUCH better except in the standing position.
I intend to practice my standing with the AR untill it feels right.
This winter I have to spend some of my time loading 80s for the 600 yard line.
