Truck just brought by my first M39. This thing is BEAUTIFUL!!! Wood looks brand new, bore is outstanding! Hex reciever. 1944 VKT. Real solid feel to these. This is my first Mosin and I get on an airplane in 2 hours to go out of town.:banghead: But I need to try it out!!!! Oh well. Just wanted to let everyone know that they haven't hit the bottom of the barrel yet.

You can't go wrong with Old Man Pekka. I just bought a 1967 "sneak" M-39 at auction. Looks promising. IIRC, all the M-39's still used old Mosin receivers, some dating back to the 1890's. It's amazing how well they've held up.

My 1942 VKT has shot 1 3/8" at 100 yards off sandbags, using Wolf 148-gr FMJ.
