You can still find it, but it can be difficult. I believe that Winchester is the only manufacturer that still loads it.
Gun shows are usually good, although some gunshops may carry it.

I'm looking at a fairly new box made by Remington. (88 grain, lead round nose) that I paid $12.85 for. (50 rds.) It's no man stopper, I'll tell you!:)

The ammunition is available in larger gunshops, and can be ordered by any shop from a distributor. However, be sure your friend's top-break isn't a black-powder era gun before you shoot it. Some of those had cylinders made out of what amounts to iron.

You must have an interesting range of customers. Hopefully they won't get the two sizes mixed up ......

When the trigger is forward and the hammer at rest see if you can rotate the cylinder. If so, you have an older model dating back to the late 1890's.
If the cylinder is latched and won't turn you have a later model made as late as 1940.
