I know that my guns are no longer safe, the little Squirt has been begging me for a year for the glock:banghead: :fire:. I think she wants my S&W 60 3" w/ adjustable sights after we had a little point shooting practice. She signed up on the 21st her B'day and got the mailed note on the 31st and got it today 3 Nov, 13 days, mine took 5 weeks. Probably let her pocket carry a 25 til I can get her a good holster for the 60 that fits her, besides her jeans are to tight from that junior year spread.:D :D

heehee well tomorrow I think I might take the 25 in a pocket and then when daddy gets me a holster for Christmas ;) I will carry his S&W model 60 till I get my own. (I may try and figure out how to carry the Glock.) I think I will be carrying it in my waistband at about 4:30/5. That's the most comfortable that I've tried it in.
I don't think I will carry on my body when Jon's around he doesn't really like that so it'll then go in a "purse" kinda like daddy's "man purse" or "fanny pack":D ;) :neener:
Now I guess I should become a member of the range and maybe take a class or 2. (We don't have to take a class to get the permit all you do is fill out a couple of papers and then turn it into the sheriff's office and wait.)

hun, its not that i dont want you to carry, its just that putting my arm around you, is supposed to be around you, not you and your gun...so we will work on solutions to this little...problem k, no hard feelings highroaders...k...i dont mind her carrying, infact i thought about it, and would like to learn more and take some classes, once the two of us have some money to get the classes and the gun and all that goes with it...so no hard feelings, i dont mind ya carrying hun...

thanks all...

GUS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great news gal ..... I knew it wouldn't take you long. Welcome too to your significant other ..... gus's Guy, Jon ... welcome dude!:)

Gus - you, like us here in PA, (oops .. you ARE in PA . Duh!! ) - it seems do not have a mandatory formal training requirement ... but do, yeah ... go get some range time in ..... you MUST familiarize .. with any and all ... whether it be 25, Dad's M60, whatever .... essential you are max proficient to point if being instinctual.

Then ... safer shooter and ......... safer Gus.:p

Carry does place extra responsibilies on you ...... where them with pride and skill.

:D Congratulations Gus:D
I too recommend taking a course.

Suggestion: Gus and Gus' guy needs a min of 3 guns each.
You see this way each has a primary, and a BUG and deep concealment. That way if arms around each other...and it doesn't matter whom is right or left...another tool in the toolbox...one "could" draw from the other.

BG: "gimmee wallet and purse"
Gus Duo: " Will these work instead?"
:D

re1973-I had been thinking about that. I was wondering when Jon and I could get to the range to practice pulling each others. Especially since I CAN carry and Jon can't. So for now (till he gets his) he will have to use mine. So maybe next time we go to the range together we will pracitce that.

This leads me to a new question which I will start a new thread on.

Thanks Skunk for the "man purse" site. Jon and I will take a trip up to Cabello's soon and see what we like there. :D

putting my arm around you, is supposed to be around you, not you and your gun...
a psychologist could have a field day with that statement.

jon, it could put you and your s/o at greater risk to have different ways of carrying. if its holstered on the body because that provides the easiest way to draw the weapon out, the shooter trains to draw as such. confusing the brain with multple ways of carry will take much more practice. in the few times i have to disarm myself, i find my right arm just cant stop trying to find the comfort of the weapon that is usually on my hip.

imagine if your girl trained herself to carry in one way, and had to abandon that when the two of you are around each other. that makes her LESS prepared should a bad situation arise. muscle memory will take over and she'll be reaching for a weapon that isnt there.

asking a loved one to make compromises about the means with which they defend themselves is not a good idea.
