Are all 625s round butt or are there square butt versions??

I do think that 99% of 625s are round ---- #25s are square , along with a few Lew Horton specials.

I don't recall any 625s that were built with a square frame grip, although
there could have been back in the 1980s. I'd ask this question on
the S&W Forum - in the Revolvers-1980 to Present section.
FYI - I have a 625-8 with Guy Hogue full size finger groove, and
checkered Rosewood 'grips.' I had a 25-2 back in
the Late '70s/early '80s of course a square butt - it had the big
S&W Target grips. The Hogue grips on my 625 fit me
better and work to control recoil much better as well.

i think all of them are rb i have owned 4 models of the 625 and all was rb

You can find an older blued Model 25 with a square butt,
