Minie Bullet Lube

I am casting these because I refuse to pay a buck a shot for the Sabots and such that are available. The ridges on the side look like the Lee tumble lube bullets. What are you guys using to lube these? How do you think Rooster Jacket would do?

For my 575 or 577 Minies, which I shoot in a Musket, I use a mix of Beeswax and Crisco. A 50/50 mix works well, the warmer things are, use more beeswax.
I got my beeswax from Epay. This search will pull up beeswax and exclude a lot of unwanted items.
(beeswax, "beeswax block", "bees wax") -bracelet, -creme, -candle, -"candle" -, -necklace, -bangle, -turpentine, -pendant, -balm, -soap, -prayer,-tibet, -china, -chinese, -necklace, -candles, -deerskin

Well I am going to try some Rooster Jacket on some and give it a try, if not I will go the bees wax route. Thanks for the replies.

I use the same mold for the same reason. Why should I pay two or three times as much for a bullet just because it comes in a pack of 20?
Anyway, I use Thompson Center Bore Butter on mine. It's probably the same as most other BP lubes, but it works and was easy to find.

I've bee using Lee Liquid Alox on Lee .50 Miniballs and REALs and then dusting them with mica.....but only because I got the mica in a package deal of reloading stuff I picked up....but it's been working really well for me.

Yep, just smear it in the grooves. I don't shoot it much in warm weather but when I do, I have to stir it up a bit (squeeze and shake the tube) or the liquid seperates from the solids. Not a problem in the fall.
