Fixing a scope

May be the wrong forum, if there is a right forum to ask this in, but... Is it possible to fix a broken scope? I have a T/C 4RP that I would like to use on something, but it no longer has windage adjustment. Seems like something like that would be easy to fix, sounds simple, right?

HA HA good joke!
I would contact T/C and see about them fixing it right. Unless you have the parts, seals, and a nitrogen probe to purge the air out of the scope.

It's been a few years since I've owned a couple of T/C scopes, but when I had a problem with one, I just sent it back to T/C. They quickly replaced it under their lifetime warranty.
Good Luck...

Sure it's possible to fix a scope.
By sending it back to the company.
Otherwise, you're just going to make the situation a LOT worse.
Scopes aren't rocket science, but they're one hell of a lot more complex than your average blender...

But I thought maybe one of you gurus had some super secret XJ9 red herring procedure. Oh well, I bought the scope and a scout mount for my M48A for 60 bucks, probably got my money out of it before it bit the dust. I doubt that T/C would honor the life time warrenty since some one took a ginder to the scope so it would fit normal scope rings. And I have cheapo NcStar scopes on all my handguns now and they're holding up just fine so it's probably not worth the money to have it fixed. But it was a fun dream while it lasted.

So, since you've decided that you're going to just replace it, why not pull it apart for grins & giggles?
The quest for knowledge should never end. :)

I've been sitting here thinking the same thing. After all that's how I learned to work on my rifles. Maybe I can come up with an XJ9 red herring of my own.

If you can't fix it with duct tape and a Swiss army knife, it's just junk.
