My latest sweetheart......

The gunshow this last weekend was nice, lots of tables and some good buys for a change:rolleyes:

I spotted a really clean M19 and looked it over, it was excellent + and the price was close. We haggled a tad, he paid the tax and transfer fees so I bought it. I got what I consider a very fair price considering the condition. Hopefully I can get out and shoot it this week sometime.......

It is a M19-4, pinned and recessed with a deep blue. Serial # indicates it was born in 1979 (thanks Mike!). There is a faint drag line but no other evidence of it ever being fired. The breechface is pristine as is the topstrap making me think it was possibly rolling around in a drawer somewhere for the last 24 years. Some bunghole managed to bugger up the screws for the sideplate and a tiny mark on the sideplate itself but I can fix that stuff as time goes by. None of the internals were touched thankfully, until I had my way with it  :evil:http://www.thehighroad.org./attachment.php?s=&postid=582622

Gorgeous gun. I don't think you can find a better combination of good looks and function. BTW, those are some of the nicest stock S&W grips I've seen.

Thanks guys.

Yo, keep an eye out. When this thing gets the conversion to round butt they will be up for sale. Small hands and these grips are not a good combo.

Amazingly good looking grips for an S&W of any era, really.

Still that stinking plow handle design, but they compliment the gun nicely.

I just picked this one up last weekend. 1972 version and I think it is unfired.

Nice find on yours.

Congrats. Beautiful gun.
BTW, I think my parents have the exact same table. I recognize the "grain."

I put 450 rounds through mine tonight and it is SWEET!!!!! It shoots a whole bunch better than I do. Double action pull is fantastic!!! I have not been this high on a gun in a long time. We just hit it off and it was all good. I cut my shooting teeth on a K-frame Smith (M13) of a similar vintage, and I guess it makes this one just feel right to me. At any rate it is a keeper!!!
