Which one of these is preferred for personal protection in most calibers:confused:
It appears that these are the two most expensive brands of ammo especially the Corbon DPX ammo. What makes it so special or expensive?

From what ive seen the DPX is a solid copper bullet which will retain its full weight and expand fully and reliably.Plus the petals once opened up act like razors, well kinda once they open up.
Id take them over the regular Corbon's only since they are close in price, and both really expensive. Also check out Hornady "Critical Defense" rounds, they are getting alot of good talk now.
I stole a pic off of google images, but search "Corbon DPX"

Those DPX look magnificent but they are at least 10.00 more if you check the Cabelas website. Is there a 10.00 difference in performance between the two because the Corbon regular high velocity hollow points have the DPX beat in the stronger and higher velocities and Muzzle Energy.

Id say it best to get what ever you think is more important, expansion or penetration.
In reality id say both are about equal.

Well in the .45 ACP + P the velocities and the m.e. are exactly the same provided the bullet grain is the same. The only odd ball was the Corbon 165 Grain .45 which had the highest speed and M.E. Otherwise the velocities are all the same. The Buffalo Bores are definitely less cost to buy than the Corbon DPX which is also alot more than the regular Corbon hollowpoints.

I really like the all-copper DPX rounds, but they're ridiculously expensive. I started carrying cheaper premium ammo, but I wish other companies would start making all-copper rounds. I know Magtech does, so you might want to check out their Guardian Gold line.

How long has the DPX been around? Perhaps it is new so that's why it's so expensive. The Corbon hollowpoints travel at a much higher velocity with more energy yet they cost less. Perhaps it is the price of cooper unless it really outperforms their hollowpoint ammo by a large margin.

I guess there has to be more evidence than that with tests to show the differences between Corbon hollowpoints and their DPX brand.
