Should I pick up some of the Remington Gun Club ammo on sale at Dicks?

So I'm debating on if I should pick a case up of the Gun Club ammo at Dicks or not. At $6 a box of 25 and then a $1 rebate it would come out to $5 a box if you buy a case. So basically I'd have to buy 10 boxes and pay $24 per 100 up front. Then would get $1 a box back later on. Now the reason I'm hesitating is I just don't really want to purchase a whole case right now and for that little bit of savings I'm not sure if it's worth it or not. I normally shoot the $23 per 100 Federal Value Pack rounds from Wallyworld with no problems. For skeet shooting which is all I use them for they do fine.

Now I hear you can reload the gun club ones also. That doesn't really effect me as I don't reload. Then again at the same time I've been thinking about getting into reloading. So what's the pro's and con's of these compared to the Federal Value packs? Is it worth buying in bulk and paying slightly more upfront for these? Or should I just wait and buy the Federal's when I decide I need them?

I think you can buy factory cheaper than you can load.I have 3 presses and never used them.and I have molds for slugs.Pistol and rifle are different.

The Gun Club hulls load really nice. Lately, I've preferred them to the new Winchester AA hulls, which have been known to split on the first firing, in some cases. I'm currently loading 12 gauge for $3.23 a box, so there is some savings, but I buy shot by the 1000 pounds, primers by the case, and wads by the case (5000) and powder in 8 pound kegs, two at a time. To really realize savings, you have to buy in bulk.

As for the factory fresh Remington Gun Club ammunition, I've found it to be good quality for the price.

Hope this helps.

Has anyone had any luck getting this offer of $6 a box when you purchase 10 boxes or more combined with the buy one get one half off sale going on? The guy at the store told me I could pick one or the other and that the $6 a box was cheaper. He said something like "you don't get half off the $6 price" or something like that. So I figured the add probably said that the buy one get one half off couldn't be combined with other offers. When I got home and looked I don't see where it says that. Was he just making that up or can the two offers not be combined? Seems like they probably should be able to be combined since the add for buy one get one half off doesn't say it can't be combined with other sales that I see anyway.

i went in to get the gun clubs but the sts where 2$ rebate per box, plus a dicks rebate of 10$ for spending 100+ on remington products. plus the case discount they cam to about 6$ a box (i bought 3 cases).

Not really,12gauge can be reloaded for about $3.50/box.

The gun clubs are great for reloading - they'll reload just as many times as the STS. I like the fact that you can get various types at Dick's with that sale. I really like the 1o loads at 1180 fps - nice and soft shooting, targets break every time I do my part

yeah, get the ammo. i was speaking with a local gun store owner about reloading. somehow the issue of shotshell reloading came. i mentioned i didn't reload shotshell, and he offered to buy every remington gun club hull i had. said they were his favorite target hulls. they are one peice, have a 8 fold crimp, and stand up pretty well to multiple passes through an auto.

Dick's has Remington and Federal shotgun shells for 50% off this week. Time for me to stock up again.
