In today's "Opinion" Wall Street Journal section in a piece called "The Tory Story"
by QUENTIN LETTS, was this very funny and well expressed ammo loading analogy describing the new leader of Brittain's Tory political party. I'm not trying to trash Mr. Duncan, nor spread bad info on him, but, rather, I'm passing on a well crafted sentence from the paper which will amuse folks who are informed on gun and ammo loading lingo. It's no big deal, but I thought I'd share it with you:

"To call Mr. Duncan Smith a damp squib might be to risk litigation from the gunpowder industry."

You have to hand it to some Brit writers. They do turn a great phrase every now and then.

My favorite were Winston Churchill's comments on his political rival, Clement Atlee.

"An empty car recently pulled up to Whitehall and Clement Atlee stepped out."

"Mr. Atlee is a humble man, with much to be humble about."

Methinks this writer knoweth more about firearms than your average journalist. He's British, eh? Imagine that. A British journalist knowing more about firearms than, say, Michael Moore.
