I need to increase the LOP on my recently acquired Ithaca 37. I need to increase it by at least 1 inch. I know I can take it to a gunsmith and have him cut one. I will certainly do that if I cannot find a ready made spacer.

You can see the picture here showing the existing recoil pad and white line spacer. I have been lurking around the gun websites and just have not come upon a ready made spacer like I need. Just asking if any of you have a link or know if such a precut spacer might exist and the web link etc.

Thanks,

I have a 1" inch spacer on one of my guns - be forewarned, something thick like that really changes the balance point unless it has been hollowed out. It would still typically need to be ground to fit anyway. Midway, Brownell's, among other places carry them.

Yeah I am on Brownell's now, but somehow I am not finding what I am looking for yet. Maybe I am just confused by the search engine process. It doesn't work to search for it by manufacturer so far. I'll keep plugging away. Thanks for the link. I guess it would be nice of me to buy it from the gunsmith if I ask him to grind it for me. Would be the decent thing to do.

Try a slip-on recoil pad over the existing one?

I've used both the limbsaver pull over pad and the LL Bean leather pad. Really like the llbean.
